What does it cost to convert a newer boat (1995-present) to through hull exhaust.l would like the ones that you are able to control the noise level, either quiet running or loud.l would take it to a marine shop.I am a do it yourselfer, but l do not trust myself cutting holes in my boat.Just looking for a ballpark figure.Thanks

If u have a I/O that is inboard/outboard it is doable to come dierctly off the enigne through the transom. They also do have a switch u can have installed with a flapper on the new exhasust system called captains choice. It will close the flapper & force the exhaust back down the lower unit & out below the water. l am guessing the parts package is probably $500 & the marine shop labor will vary to $50-75 per hour. There would be some significant machining work so my ballpark figure would be $1500 +/- $500.

If u have trim on the engine mounts it not easy as when u trim up & down it will pull the exhaust hoses off the threw hull fittings> But if not than depending on the out drive u have u have to plug the present holes in the intermediate housing> And drill the hole perfect in line with the exhaust u have> If there 90 deg have to get elbows to connect to the hull fittings> Look & see who is making threw hull exhaust with butter fly so u can quiet it down if needed> As it is quite noise> Or get the threw with rubber flaps that will help the noise factor>
