KM Hela is around somewhere but where?

Check Wikipedia under Kriegsmarine they have a listing of all the ships & their fates. Look at the bottom of the page. Since we must count submarines, there r approximately seven still in existance & on display, including one Type XX l in Germany. The rest r Type VII's. There r no Type IX is on display because they were just too big to be practical for salvage.

EDIT: Crow is correct, with the Type IXC's, & the Horst Wessel. In Wiki on the U534 page, the author states that this submarine if one of only four in the world remaining. l was fairly certain that there r more than four, as there r several Type VI l is around. But check uboat.net as suggested, & the Kriegsmarine page on Wiki. l am a little rusty. l would withdraw my answer but that takes away from the usefulness of the discussion. That is my opinion anyway.

The person above me is wrong - he is obviously forgetting about U-505, a Type IXC which is on display at the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago & the U-534 which was raised in the Kattegat in 1993 & is now in the process of being restored. Ther is also the USCGS Eagle (ex Horst Wessel), a US Coast Guard sail training ship which was taken over from Germany at the end of the war. Also, check out uboat.net, an excellent site dealing with U-boats & other vessels from WW l & WWI l - including the fates of the boats & the victims of each boat.
