l did it on a Johnson of that vintage many years ago. You need a few basic hand tools, mainly a screwdriver and a wood mallet. Remove the lower unit, remove the old pump impeller, replace it and reassemble the unit. The first time you do it allow the whole weekend just in case. If you are handy, maybe 4 hours if everything goes right.
