how do you get in the boat when in water?

to get in boat while in the water there is usually a little platform on the back or there is a ladder that you let down from the boat or that is all ready on the boat.
l guess this boat had no platform and the crew forgot to put down the ladder and they all wanted to go for a swim at once

Most boats have some kind of boarding assistance. a ladder or a line off the stern but if that does not exist, then just toss a hook over the side. catch it on the gunwal and then pull yourself up the side on the line.
