l just got myself a boat here in Kansas. l am thinking about taking to San Diego, CA for the winter. l wanna go out of the bay to some of the winter fishing spots in the ocean. All the spots l know of are well within site of the City. l plan on taking a GPS and an emergency radio. l do not have much experience with boats but l will plan on using it quite a bit this winter and fall on the lakes here in Kansas.

been out here alot of years and ran boats that size many miles off shore fishing if the weather is good great and you have the power to get the hell in if you see bad weather coming in your direction have fun but be safe

keep in mind, the ocean can change in very short order. pay attention to the water at all times, if it starts to get rough, it is gonna get rougher, time to get inland.

usually ski boats stink in the ocean [it is thier design] if your staying in the bay you will be ok in the pacific,you might be asking for trouble.before you venture out see the ocean conditions first if it is flat no wind and your staying 1 mile from shore ok,further out your asking for trouble.

Sure-bring ur dramemine the tri hull is going to bounce u around. Big side board (gunnels) will be a plus. You will soon learn about watersking down big swells- & powering up the next one. Have power u can trust ur life to. Learn the art of the ''bad broach''--where u screw up & the boat slides sideways down a trough. Get a good instructor to take u out in some weather (not big) & experience the broach so u do not show the crew(your passengers) how scared u really are. People do it all the time. Nobody flies an airplane on the first try, & they do not all crash.
