it is used for checking ignition coponents on ourboard marine engines. thats about all l know. anybody know where l can find one? or are they obsolete?

l looked for one of these testers & was unable to find one. If u have a Seloc repair manual, it describes a way to use a 1.5 volt battery with a wire soldered to each end of it in place of the tester. l tried that & was not real happy with the results.

l was able to find out that l had a bad coil by simply moving the coil wire from the coil that was not firing to the terminal in the power pack for the coil that was firing. & vice versa. In other words the coil that was firing, fired from either terminal in the power pack & the one that was not firing would not fire from either terminal.
